OPEC has increased its expectations for global oil demand growth in 2022 by 900,000 barrels per day to 4.2 million barrels per day. This brings the oil demand forecast by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries to 100.8 million barrels per day in 2022. This exceeds the level before the corona crisis.

India is currently considering introducing a tax on crypto trading. This is according to a tweet from the Indian news website ET Now. According to sources in the Indian government, India intends to tax not only the transactions, but also the ecosystem. However, taxing the crypto currencies would not automatically imply that they would also be recognized as an asset class.

Japanese industry production decreased in July 2021 compared to June 2021. Final figures from Japan’s Ministry of Trade and Industry show that production decreased by 1.5% on a monthly basis. On an annual basis, there was still an increase of 11.6%.
