Figures published by Mortgages Data Network show that in the first quarter of 2021, 6.7 percent fewer mortgages were taken out for an owner-occupied home in the Netherlands compared to the first quarter of 2020. A total of 71,566 mortgages were taken out for an owner-occupied home. According to Mortgages Data Network, the decline is caused by a decline in supply due to increasing house prices. The total number of mortgage applications remained about the same due to refinancing of mortgages.
Producer prices in the eurozone increased by 0.5 percent in February 2021 compared to January 2021. This follows from figures published by Eurostat on Thursday. Analysts had expected an increase of 0.6 percent. In January 2021 and December 2020, producer prices also increased on a monthly basis, by 1.7 percent and 0.9 percent respectively. On an annual basis, prices increased by 1.5 percent in February 2021 compared to February 2020.
Industrial production in the Netherlands decreased by 1.7 percent in February 2021 compared to February 2020. Adjusted for seasonal and working day effects, a monthly decline in production of 2.5 percent was reported over February 2021. This follows from figures published by Statistics Netherlands on Friday. In January 2021 a slight growth of 0.3 percent on an annual basis was reported.
The 6M Euribor is unchanged at -0.52% compared to previous business day. The 10Y Swap decreased with 1 basis point to 0.02% compared to previous business day.
